How to Label Basketball Film So a Coach Can Follow It

A coach opens a video and sees ten players, two teams and a ball moving quickly. Before the first play means anything, the viewer needs to know who to watch. Clear film labels help answer that question without distracting from the game.
Begin with the player's name, graduation year, high school and jersey number. Identify the uniform color when the footage comes from multiple games. If you use a marker to locate the player, make it brief and keep the action visible.
Give full games useful labels
For a full game, include the opponent and date when those details are verified. A timestamp can help someone find a particular sequence, but leave the surrounding possessions available so the viewer can follow the context.
Keep the link description consistent with the footage. Do not call old film a current season highlight, and do not attach statistics to a game unless you have checked them. A short, accurate description is more helpful than a long collection of recruiting adjectives.
Finally, open the shared link from another device. Film that cannot be accessed has not finished its job. For Ohio basketball families, organizing what already exists can be a useful step before spending time building another profile.
