After spending over 10 years in the healthcare industry as a Registered Nurse and operating several small businesses, Lloyd Wolfe shifted his focus toward coaching, athlete development, and building systems that help young athletes succeed.
Lloyd is the Founder of Wolfe Sports Recruiting, an educational and coaching platform dedicated to helping student-athletes and families navigate the modern college recruiting landscape and the evolving NIL era. For more than a decade, he has coached, mentored, and developed athletes.

Built in the gym. Driven by the game.
I’m Lloyd Wolfe, the founder of Wolfe Sports. My connection to Central Ohio basketball comes from more than a decade in its gyms—as a coach, referee, gym manager and organizer. I’ve worked with players at every stage, from Jr. Ballers first learning the game to college players.
Some of the athletes I follow today are kids I’ve watched since they first picked up a basketball. Our paths have crossed through AAU coaching, recruiting and competing against one another, then through the middle school prep years and games I’ve refereed throughout Central Ohio. Those years gave me a chance to get to know the players, their families and the basketball community around them.
I was growing alongside them. As a younger coach and adult, I was learning how to lead, listen, organize a team and be someone players and families could count on. The gym helped me mature, too. I’m grateful to have shared a part of their journey, and I can’t wait to see where their work takes them at the next level.
Building AAU Programs and Teams
My basketball background reaches beyond the sidelines. I’ve helped build AAU programs, recruit players and put teams together. That work means looking beyond individual talent to consider how players fit, what a team needs and how to create an environment where athletes can develop together.
Building a program also means building relationships. Working with players and families taught me the value of communication, organization and following through. Those lessons still guide how I cover athletes and share their stories.
A Place to Play. A Community to Build.
As a basketball gym manager and coordinator of 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 basketball, I helped bring players together and keep the game moving. From organizing teams and schedules to supporting the day-to-day gym experience, I saw how much work goes into giving people a dependable place to play.
During COVID, BTY was one of the few gyms and leagues still open. When so many opportunities to play had disappeared, having a place to get on the court and stay connected meant a lot. Between the leagues, 3-on-3 basketball and the everyday work of keeping a gym going, I saw how much a dependable place to play could mean to players and families.
Still All In
I loved being in the gym, building relationships and watching players grow. As my family grew to include three kids, my coaching schedule changed. Wolfe Sports became a way to stay connected while following more players and programs across Ohio.
When I coached, I was all in. That hasn’t changed. We look beyond points, awards and a player’s best highlight. We notice how athletes help their teams, respond to difficult games and improve throughout a season. Some of the most valuable contributions never appear in a box score.
Coverage With a Purpose
Our Ohio High School Basketball Preview and Ohio Prospect Preview bring together the film study, writing, evaluation and organization we enjoy. Our goal is coverage coaches can use, fans can enjoy, and athletes and programs can be proud of.
We know many players and families personally, but covering a player does not mean we represent them or work directly with them. We aim to keep our coverage fair, thoughtful and constructive.
Where Wolfe Sports Is Going
We’re building player and program pages that connect school information, graduation classes, available statistics, articles and film. We’re organizing Hudl and YouTube resources so coaches and families can move easily from a story to the information behind it.
Athlete TV brings our video coverage together. Recruiting education helps athletes and families understand the process, organize their information and share their story clearly.

Our regular player and program coverage is free. We do not charge players or programs to be featured or promoted on our platform.
Our publications and paid film services support the time behind that coverage. With more than 10 years of Hudl highlight creation experience, we offer remote film clipping and organization, from individual game highlights to complete season reels.
