The Marysville Monarchs are set for a marquee matchup tonight as they host the Hilliard Bradley Jaguars in what shapes up to be one of the biggest games of the season. With momentum building and tournament time approaching, this game has all the makings of a statement opportunity for Marysville.
Marysville enters the matchup riding high after a dominant 71–51 win over Olentangy Berlin, a 7–2 team at the time. It was the Monarchs’ most complete performance of the season and their highest scoring output to date. That win also marked their third straight victory over Berlin, continuing a strong recent trend against quality competition.
The Monarchs have been battle-tested all season. Despite a 5–7 record, Marysville is currently ranked 46th in the state in Division I per MaxPreps, with five losses coming by just one possession. They’ve won three of their last four games, including victories over Berlin, Olentangy Orange, and Bishop Ready, along with a hard-fought loss to a tough Harvest Prep team. Marysville is playing its best basketball right now, scoring at a highly efficient rate while holding opponents to a strong season defensive average.
Hilliard Bradley comes in with a 10–2 record and is ranked 8th in the state in Division I. The Jaguars are coming off a 61–54 win over AP and are known for their scoring ability and talent across the roster. Bradley has earned its ranking, making this an excellent measuring-stick game for the Monarchs.
When the teams last met in February 2025, Bradley came away with a 58–39 win. However, this Marysville team looks different — more connected, more confident, and playing with purpose on both ends of the floor.
With two high-scoring teams, top players on each side, and a high-energy atmosphere expected, this matchup has the potential to be one of the games of the year. As high school basketball tournament madness draws closer, tonight is a major opportunity for Marysville to make a statement on its home floor.
