Competing in the Division I Central Ohio Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) means facing some of the toughest high school basketball competition in Ohio on a nightly basis. The league is known for its physical play, strong coaching, and college-level talent, making consistent performance in the OCC a strong indicator of readiness for the next level.

Marysville High School Basketball continues to improve as the season progresses and is shaping up to be a tough out come tournament time. The team has benefitted from strong senior leadership, while underclassmen have stepped up in key moments against high-level competition. This group has been a pleasure to watch and follow, led by a hardworking, talented coaching staff and players who compete every night with toughness, discipline, and pride. Many of these games were decided late, highlighting both the strength of schedule and Marysville’s ability to compete with some of the best teams in the state.

1/9 – @ Olentangy Berlin

Result: W, 71–51


A strong road win over a Top 15 Division I team in the state of Ohio, with Marysville controlling the pace and separating in the second half against elite competition.

1/6 – vs Harvest Prep

📍 Marysville High School (Marysville, OH)

⏰ 7:30 PM

Result: L, 60–51


A physical matchup against a top Catholic prep school, with Marysville competing throughout against a disciplined, high-level opponent before Harvest Prep pulled away at the end. There was high-level talent all over the court in this matchup.





1/3 – @ Bellefontaine

📍 Bellefontaine High School (Bellefontaine, OH)

Result: W, 70–56


Marysville played with confidence and pace on the road, executing well and closing strong against quality competition close to home. This was a well-rounded team scoring game.






12/31 – vs Olentangy Orange

📍 Marysville High School (Marysville, OH)

⏰ 3:00 PM

Result: W, 52–50


A statement win over the defending Division I State Champions, decided in the final moments of a tightly contested game. Marysville won it at the buzzer, showing they can compete with anyone.





12/29 – @ Bishop Ready

📍 Bishop Ready High School (Columbus, OH)

⏰ 7:30 PM

Result: W, 69–48


A convincing road win over a top Catholic prep school, highlighted by strong defense and balanced offensive execution. Ready is a top Division V team in the state of Ohio and a very competitive Catholic prep school.

A competitive matchup against a deep and physical Division I opponent, with Marysville battling throughout.

12/20 – @ Medina (Holiday Hoopla – Neutral Site)

📍 Neutral Site

⏰ 11:15 AM

Result: L, 60–59


What a game. High-level, high-IQ basketball was going on out there all game. A buzzer-beater loss in a neutral-site matchup that came down to the final possession. After Marysville hit a three to go up one with five seconds left, Medina scored off an inbound play at the buzzer to win.

📍 Thomas Worthington High School (Worthington, OH)

Result: W, 54–45


Marysville’s first win of the season, showcasing growth, execution, and composure in a tough road environment. Marysville used a tough 1-3-1 defense to earn its first conference win of the season.

12/12 – vs Olentangy

📍 Marysville High School (Marysville, OH)

⏰ 7:30 PM

Result: L, 57–43


A challenging matchup against a Top 10 team in the state of Ohio, providing valuable experience against elite competition. Olentangy played tough defense and pulled away in the second half. With Marysville being young, it will be interesting to see how they develop in this conference matchup over the next few years.





12/9 – vs Delaware Hayes

📍 Marysville High School (Marysville, OH)

Result: L, 41–39


A buzzer-beater loss against the Division II State Runner-Up, decided in the final seconds of a defensive battle. Marysville suffered another one-possession loss, but not because of a lack of effort.

12/5 – @ Dublin Jerome

📍 Dublin Jerome High School (Dublin, OH)

⏰ 7:30 PM


Result: L, 60–54 (Double Overtime). A tough double-overtime loss against a rival Dublin school for Marysville. This was a very intense game to watch. Marysville had chances in regulation and at the end of overtime at the buzzer, but it wasn’t meant to be. This sets up a fun conference matchup on 1/23/26.

12/1 – @ Gahanna Lincoln

📍 Lincoln High School (Gahanna, OH)

⏰ 7:30 PM


Result: L, 60–55. A hard-fought season opener on the road that stayed within one possession late. A battle of two top Division I teams in Central Ohio to start the season did not disappoint. The game film in the links below is just okay as a heads-up ahead of time, and this note is only for the Gahanna games.
