2026–27 Ohio boys basketball outlook • MAC • Research checked October 21, 2026.

The verified starting point

2025–26 regular season: 12–10 overall, 4–5 MAC.

The regular-season report lists 31.50 rebounds per game.

Hudson Overman and Brody Barga earned first-team All-MAC recognition.

The conference middle leaves little separation

Fort Recovery finished with the same league record as Minster and New Bremen. The regular-season overall record was 12–10, and the average scoring margin was 2.13 points. Those figures describe a team operating with less room for error than the MAC's leading programs.

The actual results reinforce that picture. Fort Recovery beat New Knoxville 56–55, lost 56–52 to Versailles and lost 74–69 to St. Henry. A few possessions changed outcomes across several different opponents.

The rebounding number is a meaningful strength

The league's final regular-season report credits Fort Recovery with 31.50 rebounds per game, the highest team average shown. Brody Barga collected 215 rebounds in 22 games, or 9.77 per game. He also earned first-team All-MAC and Division VI All-Ohio honorable mention, with the state release listing him as a junior.

Hudson Overman was another first-team league selection. His regular-season line included 13.86 points per game and 43.84% three-point shooting. Breaker Jutte earned second-team recognition and Colson Post honorable mention. These records provide a substantive previous-season picture without asserting a finalized new rotation.

Making the strengths count more consistently

A rebounding advantage is most valuable when it produces possession: a secured defensive board or a useful second chance. Watch what happens after the rebound as well. Does the next decision create an advantage, or does the ball return quickly to the opponent?

Fort Recovery's regular-season free-throw figure was 62.25%. In a conference slate containing several narrow results, the line is another practical area to monitor without attributing a particular loss to it.

The Indians have documented strengths to build around. Their next step is connecting those strengths to more dependable scoring and decision-making in the games that decide the middle of the table.
