Marysville continues to reload with talent.

A Strong Senior Core: Marysville High School Basketball Player Preview 2025 - 2026.

Marysville High School basketball enters the season just two years removed from producing OCC Division I Player of the Year Jason Moore and first-team All-District standout CJ Collins, both of whom made lasting impacts on the program. Marysville has also sent seven players on to play college basketball in the past five years, a major step forward compared to just two players over the previous 30 years.

This year, the Monarchs turn the reins over to a strong and experienced senior class, led by 6'4" senior Cole Brewer, a skilled and competitive leader who sets the tone on both ends of the floor.

At the heart of this team is a strong core of seven seniors. Brewer is joined by Brennan Adkins, who will compete as one of the top point guards in the OCC, Owen Graves, whose high motor and leadership set the standard every day, Levi Crouso, who brings a talented skill set and athleticism, Drew Chaffin, who adds shooting and length on the wing, Dawson Taylor, a 6'8 presence with size and soft touch around the basket, and left-handed sharpshooter Ben Coil.

Also featured this season is 6'3 freshman Kellan Carter, a name that will not need much of an introduction for long and a player expected to make an immediate impact. This senior core is an excellent fit for Carter and several other talented freshmen and sophomores who will already be competing for minutes.

The leadership, togetherness, and culture built by this group continue to raise the standard for the program and provide a strong example of what Marysville basketball represents.

Cole Brewer 6'4 (2026) - Cole Brewer returns as the centerpiece of a senior-heavy Marysville roster after earning Second Team All-OCC honors and being ranked among the top 90 players in Ohio. A downhill scoring guard who plays with consistent effort and intensity, Brewer can score at all three levels and enters the season as an early candidate for OCC Player of the Year, while drawing interest from college programs at multiple levels.

Alongside Brewer are six other seniors who bring toughness, experience, and strong leadership to the program. Their work ethic and commitment have helped shape the standard for this year’s team.

Brenna Adkins - Brennan Adkins is one of the top point guards in the OCC and a fast, explosive, downhill scoring guard who can impact the game in a variety of ways. He has the ability to put up big numbers when needed, but his value goes well beyond the stat sheet through his pace, playmaking, defensive pressure, and ability to create opportunities for his teammates.

Drew Chaffin - Drew Chaffin is a 6’3 guard with length and a clean, reliable shot. After battling injuries, he is finally healthy and already making a difference. With a full season ahead of him, Chaffin has the opportunity to show his true impact and continue to grow into a key piece for this group.

Owen Graves - He is the glue guy of this group, bringing energy, toughness, and effort on every possession. He consistently does the small things that help teams win, creates extra chances with his hustle on the glass, and can score at all three levels when needed. His ability to guard multiple positions is especially important for Marysville, and his presence and versatility are key for a team that does not rely on size.

Ben Coil - left-handed sharp shooting guard who brings reliable shooting and strong feel for the game. He spaces the floor well, plays within the offense, and understands how to find scoring opportunities without forcing the action. In Marysville’s high-tempo, high-scoring system, Coil is positioned to take on a larger offensive role and could put together a very productive season while continuing to impact the game with his versatility and steady play.

Levi Crouso - Levi Crouso is one of the top athletes on the roster and brings a strong combination of speed, strength, and skill on the perimeter. He is effective attacking downhill and shoots the ball at a high percentage, making him difficult to defend in space. Defensively, he is often matched up with the fastest and most athletic players on the floor, where his quickness and physical tools allow him to make a real impact on both ends.

Dawson Taylor - Dawson Taylor is a 6’8 presence with good touch and developing skill around the basket. After returning from injury at the start of the season, he is still working his way back into full game shape, but his size and feel inside give Marysville an important dimension in the frontcourt. As the season moves forward, his role will continue to grow, and his presence will be an important piece for Marysville as it looks to compete in the OCC and make a strong run into the district tournament.

Marysville will also feature a freshmen in the starting lineup that is one of the top players in the area, two other that play and a top sophomore that is itching to get more minutes!

Kellan Carter (Class of 2029) - is a 6’3 freshman who will be closely watched as he makes the jump to Division I varsity basketball. His scoring ability and confidence give him a real chance to make an immediate impact, and it would not be surprising to see Carter push toward the 15-points-per-game range early in the season as he adjusts to the pace and physicality of the varsity level.

Myles Forrester (2029) – 5’7 PG Forrester is a downhill, attacking point guard who plays with confidence and natural leadership. He is very skilled with the ball, changes pace well, and is extremely difficult to keep in front in space. Despite his size, he consistently creates advantages off the dribble and keeps pressure on the defense. He already plays with a high-level feel for the game and continues to stand out as a true floor general for his age.

Hudson King (2029) – 5’11 G King is a competitive, tough, and reliable guard who brings strong energy on both ends of the floor. He is a hard worker and vocal leader who takes pride in defending and making winning plays. Offensively, he is a capable and confident shooter who can stretch the floor, while defensively he consistently applies pressure and makes things uncomfortable for opposing guards.

Dayton Storr (2028) – 6’3 W/G Storr is a high-motor wing who impacts the game in multiple ways, starting with his relentless offensive rebounding and physical play. He is a high-volume scorer who also shoots the three at a high percentage, making him a constant threat both inside and on the perimeter. With his size, length, and effort level, Storr brings a strong two-way presence and plays much bigger than his position.

Drew Hughes (2027) – 6’7 WingHughes is an explosive downhill wing and a powerful finisher at the rim. He consistently attacks gaps, plays above the rim, and brings a level of athleticism that changes the look of the floor when he is in the game. At 6’7, he has the tools to impact both ends and is very often one of the best overall athletes in the gym.
