The Marysville Bunsold Basketball Class of 2030 enters the 2025–2026 season as the team to beat in the Central Ohio Division I circuit. They’ve earned that position through years of steady growth, strong competition, and a commitment to doing things the right way. With more attention on them than ever, this group approaches the season with a blend of humble confidence and an extreme work ethic that has defined their rise.

2025–2026 Basketball Schedule Preview and Last Season Recap

Last season, the Monarchs put together one of the best basketball seasons campaigns in school history:

  • 18–0 regular season

  • 20–1 overall, with their only loss coming by two points in the Final Four to Dublin Grizzell

  • 8–0 at home, protecting their court with pride and consistency

This year, they have the opportunity to chase several rare accomplishments:

  • Becoming the only team in school history to complete undefeated regular seasons in both 7th and 8th grade

  • Securing the second undefeated home record in program history

    • (Class of 2029 was the first)

  • Earning the second Division I Central Ohio Gold Bracket Championship in school history

    • (also first achieved by the Class of 2029)

Still, the basketball group remains grounded. While records and accolades tell part of the story, this team is focused on the process, the details, and the daily work. They understand that the season will be defined not by expectations, but by how consistently they show up, compete, and elevate one another—one day at a time. They know that everything they do is preparing them for the next level.

Team Mottos & Core Identity

This team is built on values that reach far beyond the court. Their mottos define who they are, how they play, and how they carry themselves as young people—not just as athletes.

TOGETHERNESS

This group believes in doing everything as one. They trust each other, communicate, and choose the team over the individual. No matter how talented any player may be, nothing works unless they work together. Their success comes from connection, unselfish play, and understanding that teamwork makes the game more enjoyable and meaningful.

THANKFULNESS

Gratitude is at the center of their approach. They recognize the commitment of coaches, the support of parents, and the effort of teammates. They appreciate the opportunity to learn, compete, and grow. That gratitude keeps them humble, focused, and locked in on what truly matters—enjoying the work and embracing the journey.

THE WORK - EVERYTHING STARTS ON DEFENSE - COMPETE

Their goal is to out work everyone and Defense is the foundation of who they are. Pressure. Communication. Rotations. Effort. It sets the tone, travels everywhere they go, and often decides the moment when opportunities shift. Clearing the first rebound, playing strong with the ball, making the extra pass, trusting the work they’ve put in—these habits create separation and build confidence. The offense comes naturally because the effort has already been invested on the defensive end.

BTY — Better Than Yesterday

This is more than a motto. It’s a standard they carry into every drill, every practice, and every game. Improving a little bit each day makes the game more fun and builds confidence the right way. Working hard becomes enjoyable when players see themselves growing, supporting each other, and creating something special together. BTY reflects their commitment to progress, consistency, and showing up with purpose.
