Tybron Brooks: Newark's Postseason Playmaker Has More Than an Award to Build On
Tybron Brooks's next high school basketball chapter follows second-team All-OCC recognition in the OCC Buckeye Division. The official 2025–26 workbook lists Newark as the award-season school and junior as the class at the time.
Newark's Postseason Playmaker Has More Than an Award to Build On
Brooks' March tournament performances give Newark fans something concrete to revisit. Press Pros' district-final reporting credits him with 18 points and five assists against Gahanna, matching Ty Gilbert's scoring as the Wildcats secured another district championship.
The following week, Brooks supplied 12 points and seven assists in Newark's 50–37 regional-semifinal win over Reynoldsburg. Those two games show why his passing belongs beside the scoring in a feature about his season. He earned second-team OCC Buckeye recognition as a junior, and his Class of 2027 story now carries meaningful postseason experience. The next chapter is worth following through the possessions he organizes as well as those he finishes.
