Marysville-Bunsold Boys Basketball Opens Season with Dominant Win
The Marysville-Bunsold Class of 2030 Boys Basketball team tipped off the 2025 season in style, showing teamwork, chemistry, and confidence in a commanding 91-72 victory over Springfield Shaeffer.

The Monarchs looked sharp from the opening tip, moving the ball unselfishly and playing with the same togetherness that made them one of the area’s toughest teams a year ago.
This year’s roster features a deep and talented group from the class of 2030: Tayte Keller, Vinnie Z, Freddie Paul, Erion Nelson, Zane Mosier, Owen Jergens, Luke Hensel, Cole Fuchs, Niko Huddleston, Tyler Ketchum, and Titus Meginness.
The team is coming off an impressive 2024 campaign, where their only loss came in the Final Four (19-1), and they’re clearly motivated to finish what they started. Players have emphasized the importance of playing “TOGETHER” — a theme that was on full display in their opening win.

The Monarchs spread the scoring around while maintaining defensive intensity and composure throughout the game.
Scoring Leaders:
Tayte Keller – 28 points
Vinnie Z – 18 points
Erion Nelson – 12 points
Zane Mosier – 12 points
Freddie Paul – 9 points
Luke Hensel – 9 points

With so many weapons and a shared mindset focused on growth and team success, the Marysville-Bunsold Monarchs are poised for another exciting season.
Next up, Marysville-Bunsold will host Olentangy Berkshire this Thursday, as the Class of 2031 tips off at 5:30 PM and the Class of 2030 follows at 6:30 PM. Come out and support these hard-working young athletes as they continue their pursuit of another standout season!
