ARCHIVED COVERAGE — Originally prepared October 8, 2026. Statistics, recruiting status and upcoming-game references reflect that date.

LATEST RESULT: OLENTANGY 31, MARYSVILLE 8 — OCTOBER 2

NEXT GAME: THOMAS WORTHINGTON AT MARYSVILLE — OCTOBER 9

A difficult scoreboard does not erase the players who keep showing up for their teammates. Owen Harbold and Deacon Henry gave Marysville plenty of that effort against Olentangy, combining for 22 tackles as the Monarchs continued competing through a demanding Friday night.

Harbold finished with 13 stops, including 11 solo tackles. Henry added nine, six of them solo. Those were substantial contributions in a game that asked a great deal of Marysville’s defense.

The Monarchs trailed 31–0 at halftime but held Olentangy scoreless over the final two quarters. That finish cannot change the final score, but it gives this group a positive response to carry into its next opportunity.

Harbold and Henry Make Their Contributions Count

Harbold’s latest performance highlights his ability to finish tackles. Eleven solo stops mean his contribution went well beyond being near the play; the reported line credits him with repeatedly completing the tackle himself.

The senior is listed at tight end and outside linebacker, while fellow senior Deacon Henry is listed at receiver and free safety. Both are part of a roster whose players contribute across positions and units.

Henry’s nine-tackle Friday adds to a productive season. His involvement gives Marysville another defender capable of helping finish possessions, particularly when the ball reaches the second level.

Their published season figures deserve a clear explanation: the current statistical table lists five games for Harbold and seven for Henry. Harbold has 43 tackles across those five reported games, while Henry has 37 across seven. The different reporting counts should not be used to assume why a game is absent.

Marysville Defensive Season Update

Published totals checked October 8. “Listed games” is the source’s statistical game count. Tackles for loss and sacks are separate categories; do not add them to total tackles.

Player — Listed games — Solo — Assists — Total tackles — Tackles for loss — Sacks

Trevor Helmuth — 7 — 50 — 17 — 67 — 4 — 1

James Stevenson — 7 — 38 — 9 — 47 — 9 — 3

Owen Harbold — 5 — 30 — 13 — 43 — 4 — 1

Mamour Saidy — 7 — 26 — 15 — 41 — 16 — 9.5

Deacon Henry — 7 — 23 — 14 — 37 — 1 — 0.5

Griffen Beery — 7 — 17 — 8 — 25 — 2.5 — 2

Gage Henry — 7 — 14 — 7 — 21 — 1 — 0

Shane Brickner — 7 — 12 — 5 — 17 — 4 — 2.5

A Defense With More Than One Contributor

Carter Dunn remains a central part of the group. He added 10 tackles against Olentangy, eight solo. Trevor Helmuth’s production also deserves attention, while James Stevenson supplied seven solo tackles and a blocked punt in the latest game.

Mamour Saidy continues to create disruptive plays. Against Olentangy, he recorded two tackles for loss and a sack. Carter Bohanan contributed a tackle for loss and half a sack, and Griffen Beery recovered a fumble.

Gage Henry’s value extends beyond his receiving and return work. The team’s published interception leaders include Gage and Rivers Hodges with two apiece, plus Helmuth with one. Creating turnovers gives the offense additional chances and makes these contributions especially valuable.

Other players helped against Olentangy as well: Brycen Luelleman recorded five tackles, Bransen Allemang four, and Henry Brown one solo stop. Those are verified game figures; complete updated season lines for those players were not available in the same published table.

Turning the Response Into a Complete Game

Marysville enters its October 9 home matchup with Thomas Worthington at 2–5. For Harbold, Henry, Dunn and their teammates, the opportunity is to carry the second-half response forward from the opening possession.

There is real production to recognize here. The Monarchs have defenders finishing tackles, making plays behind the line and contributing on special teams. Bringing those contributions together for four quarters is the next step—and a reason to keep following this group with encouragement.
