What’s New for 2026–27
Divisional Assignments
The 2026–27 school year begins a new two-year enrollment cycle. OHSAA applies competitive balance data to boys basketball when assigning divisions. Schools also had the opportunity to move up to Division I. The final Division I–VII school lists are available through the divisional breakdowns link above.
Basketball Rules
The 2026–27 rules include guidance on clock adjustments in the final minute, silent-count corrections, offsetting technical fouls and throw-in violations. Read the official rules-change announcement for the precise application.
Officials may also use a silent count to correct certain clock errors. Other changes address offsetting technical fouls and where play resumes after a throw-in violation.

Tournament Entry Deadlines and Live Resources
The current 2026–27 Basketball Manual lists boys tournament entry/withdrawal deadlines of February 8, 2027 at noon for Divisions III–VII and February 15, 2027 at noon for Divisions I–II. Because a summary page has shown a different date, schools should confirm the applicable deadline in the current tournament regulations and their official school account.
