The 17U Midwest Pumas put together an impressive showing at the Buckeye Prep Tournament this past weekend, and two North Union standouts helped lead the charge.
Quarterback and wide receiver on the football field, Nick Hajjar and Dainon Lindsey showed that their chemistry, athleticism, and competitiveness carry over to the basketball court as well. Alongside a talented and loaded Midwest Pumas roster.

Nick Hajjar Controls the Game from the Guard Spot
Nick Hajjar was the clear point guard and floor general for the group.
Hajjar played with confidence, control, and poise, setting the tone offensively by controlling the pace of the game and making the right reads. He showed strong fundamentals with smart passes, composed decision-making, and timely finishes around the basket.
What stood out most was how steady he was. Hajjar did not try to force the action. He played within the flow of the game, got teammates involved, and picked his spots when opportunities opened up.
He also knocked down shots from the outside, giving the Pumas another scoring threat and forcing defenders to respect him beyond the arc. His ability to balance playmaking, scoring, and leadership made him a major piece of the Pumas’ tournament run.
Dainon Lindsey Steals the Show (He is actually 6'4!)

Highlights and more player update about Lindsey coming soon!
Dainon Lindsey Stands Out
At 6'4", Dainon Lindsey brought the energy, athleticism, and production all weekend.
Lindsey was one of the biggest standouts of the tournament, making his presence felt with high-flying finishes, strong putbacks, tip slams, and deep shooting range. His ability to play above the rim while also stepping out and hitting shots from NBA range made him a tough matchup for opponents.
He played with confidence and explosiveness, attacking the basket hard, finishing through contact, running the floor, and creating momentum-changing plays for the Pumas. His athleticism jumps out right away, but what makes him even more intriguing is how his skill set continues to expand.
When a 6'4" player can finish at the rim, rebound with energy, make plays in transition, and stretch the floor from deep, college programs are going to pay attention.
Lindsey’s performance earned him All-Tournament honors, a well-deserved recognition after a strong weekend.

The Midwest Pumas 17U Squad Is Loaded with Talent
The 17U Midwest Pumas were locked in from the start, going undefeated and controlling every matchup from the opening tip.
This squad is loaded with athleticism, speed, and high-level players from around the area. They get out in transition, run the floor hard, defend, and create fast-break opportunities that put pressure on teams quickly. When they are clicking, they can take control with athletic dunks, strong finishes, aggressive defense, and multiple players making an impact.
Their undefeated weekend showed exactly why this group is dangerous. They compete, they play fast, and they have enough talent across the roster to give opponents problems in different ways.
The Pumas did not just win games — they controlled the pace, brought energy, and proved they are a group that can make noise against strong competition.
College Radar Heading Into Senior Year
Lindsey, Hajjar, and several players on this 17U Midwest Pumas squad are entering an important stretch as they head toward their senior year.
Performances like this matter. Tournament settings give players a chance to compete against strong talent, show consistency, and prove they can contribute in competitive environments.
Lindsey earning All-Tournament honors adds to the attention, but the entire group showed why college coaches should continue keeping an eye on them.
For North Union, having a QB-WR combination that can also produce at a high level on the basketball court speaks to the overall athleticism and competitiveness of both players. Hajjar brings leadership, control, and toughness. Lindsey brings explosiveness, scoring ability, and high-level athleticism.
