Minster 2026–27 Basketball: Efficient Interior Production and the Next MAC Step
2026–27 Ohio boys basketball outlook • MAC • Research checked October 21, 2026.
The verified starting point
2025–26 regular season: 15–7 overall, 4–5 MAC.
Regular-season averages: 53.23 points scored, 48.68 allowed.
Cole Albers and Cole McClurg were first-team All-MAC selections.
A winning season and a losing league record coexist
Minster won 15 regular-season games but finished 4–5 in the MAC. That combination says something important about the league assignment: a successful overall team still had to work for its place against familiar conference opponents.
The Wildcats' regular-season margin was positive by 4.55 points per game. They beat New Bremen 40–26 and Coldwater 59–47 in league play, while losses to the top two finishers included 64–44 against St. John's and 67–44 against Marion Local.
The two Coles supplied different kinds of production
Cole Albers averaged 15.71 points across 21 games, collected 196 rebounds and shot 64.38% from the field in the final regular-season report. Cole McClurg averaged 11.41 points across 22 games and recorded 124 assists. Both earned first-team All-MAC recognition.
The official All-Ohio release lists both Albers and McClurg as seniors. That makes the transition especially substantial: Minster must replace recognized finishing, rebounding and playmaking responsibilities. Andrew Ketner's league honorable mention adds another verified name from the previous team's recognition, while the new roster will establish the next distribution of work.

Efficiency needs support at the line
Minster's regular-season free-throw percentage was 52.83%, while its three-point percentage was 31.45%. Those team figures provide context around the strong individual field-goal number. Efficient finishing in one part of the offense does not guarantee that every scoring situation is equally reliable.
The new season's most revealing possessions may be the ones that require a different answer: an opponent closes the preferred scoring area, pressure changes the first pass, or a late game reaches the foul line.
Watch who assumes the organizational responsibilities associated with McClurg's previous assist total. Minster's next step in the MAC will depend on how well the new group connects its strengths across an entire possession.
