Harding 2026–27 Basketball: The MOAC Team That Beat the Champion
2026–27 Ohio boys basketball outlook • MOAC • Research checked October 21, 2026.
The verified starting point
2025–26: 14–10 overall, 8–6 MOAC.
Harding handed River Valley its lone league loss, 64–44.
Caleb Metz earned first-team All-MOAC recognition.
The signature result belongs in the conversation
Harding's 64–44 win over River Valley was the champion's only MOAC defeat. That gives the Presidents a specific piece of evidence that they could challenge the top, rather than a preview built only on a middle-of-the-table record.
The full conference season still finished at 8–6. A strong win does not erase the other results, and the new team's task is to make its best level appear more consistently. Harding also beat Ontario 45–36, another meaningful result against a team that finished above it.
The awards identify recognized responsibilities
Caleb Metz was a first-team league selection, Landon Keller earned second-team recognition and Te'Sean Braddy received honorable mention. These honors establish the previous group's acknowledged contributors without settling the coming season's roster.
The conference's regular-season statistics also credited Braddy with 1.6 steals per game. That is a useful example of a contribution beyond scoring, but individual defensive totals do not establish the team's entire approach or guarantee that the same roles carry forward.

The tournament showed two very different problems
Harding beat Beechcroft 45–40 in overtime in sectional play, then lost 49–22 to Watterson in a district semifinal. The first result demonstrates a finished elimination game under pressure; the second shows how limited scoring can change the outcome against a different opponent.
For the new season, watch how the Presidents create a useful attempt when an opponent has taken away the first action. Can they move into a second decision with enough time, and can the supporting players turn attention elsewhere into an advantage?
Harding's ceiling was visible in the champion's only league defeat. The next step is building a more dependable floor, so the team does not need its best night to remain competitive with the MOAC's upper group.
