Pleasant 2026–27 Basketball: A Balanced MOAC Record and a New Interior Assignment
2026–27 Ohio boys basketball outlook • MOAC • Research checked October 21, 2026.
The verified starting point
2025–26: 14–9 overall, 7–7 MOAC.
Evan Sickmiller earned first-team All-MOAC recognition.
The regular-season report credits Sickmiller with 8.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.
The .500 league record needs some context
Pleasant finished exactly even in conference play while winning 14 games overall. Its league results included a 70–64 victory over Ontario and a 38–35 win over Harding, showing that the Spartans could beat teams that finished above them.
The same table left Pleasant behind four programs. That is why the next season's story should focus on consistency against the league's different challenges rather than treating one notable victory as a complete forecast.
Sickmiller's contribution was not limited to points
Evan Sickmiller received first-team All-MOAC recognition and was listed as a senior in the official All-Ohio release. The league's regular-season report credits him with eight rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game across 22 games.
Those figures represent meaningful interior responsibilities. A team replacing that production needs answers around finishing defensive possessions and contesting opportunities near the basket, as well as whatever changes occur in its scoring distribution. Avery Hamper's conference honorable mention provides another verified name from last season's recognition.

The narrow games are useful viewing references
Pleasant beat Highland 44–39 in one league meeting and 53–52 in the other. Those wins show that some of the conference record depended on finishing close games. They should be acknowledged without assuming that every narrow result will repeat.
The Spartans' tournament ended with a 68–60 sectional loss to Fredericktown. For the next group, watch whether the offense can produce a useful attempt when the first action is covered and whether defensive stops become secured rebounds.
The new team's identity will be established by its current personnel. Pleasant has evidence that it can compete with the MOAC's upper half; turning that into a more consistent league position requires reliable work across games with very different scoring demands.
