Dublin Jerome Boys Win 2026 State Golf Title; Girls Finish Runner-Up

Dublin Jerome closed the 2026 high school golf season with a state championship and a runner-up finish, giving the Celtics another reason to celebrate both sides of their program. The boys won Division I at NCR Country Club’s South Course, while the girls finished second on the North Course during the October 12–13 state tournament.
Brady Barnum leads a convincing boys championship
Jerome posted rounds of 283 and 291 for a 574 total, finishing 25 strokes ahead of Cincinnati St. Xavier’s 599. New Albany placed third at 603. Senior Brady Barnum earned individual medalist honors with a 66–73—139, and sophomore Blaise Barnum finished second with a 71–70—141.
Senior Evan Menges added a 71–74—145 for fifth place. Junior Harrison Young finished at 149, and junior Colton Altenburg completed the lineup at 160. Having the first- and second-place individuals plus another top-five finisher helps explain the size of Jerome’s winning margin.
Girls respond with a stronger second round
The girls improved from 310 to 296 for a two-day 606. Magnificat won with 593, while Olentangy Orange finished third at 623. Junior Nikitha Suresh paced Jerome with 74–71—145, tying for seventh individually. Mallory Quickel totaled 151, Adella Pawlowski 157, Maya Faustino 159 and freshman Hebe Li 160.
Jerome’s 14-shot improvement is a meaningful part of the story. The Celtics came back for the final round and produced a substantially lower team score on the biggest stage of the season. Winning and finishing runner-up also deserve to be recognized as separate achievements by two teams.
A season finish worth remembering
For the seniors, these rounds close a high school season with memories that last beyond the scorecard. For the younger players, performing in a state field offers a concrete benchmark for the work ahead. Jerome leaves NCR with a boys title and a girls team that again competed near the very top of Ohio golf.
