Drew Carper's Baseball Foundation: Shortstop Responsibility and Bunsold Leadership

Drew Carper's eighth-grade baseball role came with responsibility. He played shortstop, pitched, hit near the top of the lineup, and shared team captain duties. His coach's 2024 evaluation described a player trusted to be involved in the center of the game.

The saved Bunsold sheet records seven hits in 29 at-bats across 13 games, a .241 average, and a .436 on-base percentage. Carper added seven RBI, 14 runs, seven walks, and 10 stolen bases without a recorded caught stealing.

The offensive line shows several ways he helped. His on-base percentage was well above his batting average, reflecting the walks and three hit-by-pitches recorded in the export. Once aboard, he contributed to the running game and gave teammates chances to drive him home.

His coach's most enthusiastic comments concerned shortstop. The evaluation described range, an effective throwing arm, and the ability to handle difficult defensive responsibilities. It also identified him as a team captain alongside Landon Ice.

On the mound, the sheet credits Carper with 13 innings and 16 strikeouts in five appearances. Those are eighth-grade numbers from 2024, and they belong to that stage of his development.

Marysville's official 2026 JV roster lists him as No. 1, while a 2025 Prep Baseball tournament roster identifies him as a Class of 2028 right-handed pitcher. The public listings provide continuity between the middle school player and his high school baseball path.

Wolfe Sports' outlook centers on building from that foundation: continued offensive development alongside defensive reliability could give him more ways to earn opportunities. His early record already shows why coaches valued his involvement.
