Cohen Millice’s Standout Senior High School Golf Season Continues With District Qualification and being named Golfer of the year in back to back seasons!
Triad High School senior Cohen Millice has spent his final golf season building an impressive résumé defined by individual championships, consistent low scores and repeated recognition as one of the Ohio Heritage Conference’s best players.
Back-to-Back OHC North Golfer of the Year Cohen Millice Advances to Districts
Cohen Millice has spent his senior season establishing himself as one of the top Division III golfers in the region.
The Triad High School standout has won multiple tournaments, consistently finished as a match medalist and delivered some of his best golf in the season’s biggest events. His performance has now earned him OHC North Golfer of the Year honors for the second consecutive season.
Millice was also selected First Team OHC and received the conference Sportsmanship Award, recognizing both his performance and the way he represents Triad on the course.
His season is not finished. After advancing individually from the Southwest Division III Sectional Tournament, Millice will compete at the district tournament on September 28 at Heatherwoode Golf Club.
A Season Filled With Medalist Performances
Millice established himself as one of the area’s top golfers almost immediately.
He opened the season by shooting a tournament-best 76 at the Urbana Country Club Classic, earning medalist honors in a competitive 10-school invitational. It was an early indication that Millice was prepared to produce his best golf in larger tournament settings. Peak of Ohio
Just two days later, he was even better.
Millice fired a 73 at Woodland Golf Club to win the Champaign County Invitational. His score was seven strokes better than the next golfer in the field and helped Triad finish third as a team. Peak of Ohio
Those early tournament victories set the tone for the rest of his senior season.
Millice shared medalist honors with a 40 during a tri-match against Mechanicsburg and West Liberty-Salem. He later shot a 38 at Woodland Golf Club to finish as the lone medalist in a four-team competition featuring Triad, Mechanicsburg, Northeastern and West Liberty-Salem.
He followed that performance with medalist rounds of 40 against Madison Plains and 39 against Springfield Catholic Central on consecutive days.
One of his strongest nine-hole rounds came on Senior Night against Mechanicsburg. Millice shot a 35 to lead every golfer in the match. Triad did not earn the team victory, but Millice made the most of his final home appearance by finishing as the individual medalist. Peak of Ohio
He also recorded a 37 against West Jefferson and West Liberty-Salem and posted another 37 at Darby Creek against Fairbanks.
What stands out most is the variety of those performances. Millice has produced low scores in nine-hole conference matches, multi-team competitions and major 18-hole tournaments. Whether playing for a team victory or an individual championship, he has consistently given Triad a score near the top of the leaderboard.
Back-to-Back OHC North Golfer of the Year
Winning Golfer of the Year once is an impressive accomplishment. Repeating the honor requires an entirely different level of consistency.
Millice has now been named the OHC North Golfer of the Year in back-to-back seasons, establishing himself as the conference’s top golfer over the final two years of his Triad career.
He first earned the award as a junior after finishing the 2025 conference season with 171 points across 144 holes. Instead of slowing down as a senior, Millice nearly matched that production with 170.5 points over 144 holes in 2026.
His senior conference season ended with one of his best performances of the year.
Millice shot a 75 at the OHC Boys Golf Championship to win the individual conference title and finish as the overall tournament medalist. Triad recorded a team score of 406, placing sixth in the OHC North and 10th across the full conference field, but Millice finished alone at the top of the individual leaderboard. Peak of Ohio
The championship round completed another season of consistent excellence. Millice produced low scores throughout the conference schedule, repeatedly earned medalist honors and delivered when the conference title was on the line.
His development can be seen throughout his OHC career. Millice recorded 105.5 points as a freshman and 122.5 as a sophomore before making a major jump to 171 as a junior. He then remained at that elite level with 170.5 points during his senior season. OHC career statistics
That progression makes the back-to-back award even more meaningful. Millice developed from a promising young golfer into the standard for the OHC North—and then proved his junior season was not simply a one-year breakthrough.
In addition to Player of the Year, Millice earned First Team OHC honors alongside Mason Bandy, Maxwell Popovich, Liam Rhea, Maddox Smith and Sam Snyder. He was also presented with the Sportsmanship Award, adding another meaningful honor to his senior season. Ohio Heritage Conference
For two straight seasons, Millice has been the golfer everyone else in the OHC North has been chasing. Winning the award once placed him among the conference’s best. Winning it again secured his place as one of the most accomplished golfers of his era at Triad.
Earning His Place at Districts
Millice entered the Southwest Division III Sectional Tournament at Shelby Oaks Golf Course with his individual season on the line.
After shooting a 42 on the front nine, he responded with a 40 on the back to finish with an 82. The round placed him in a tie for 13th overall and secured one of the individual qualifying positions for the district tournament.
Triad finished 16th as a team with a score of 419, bringing the Cardinals’ team season to an end. Millice, however, earned another opportunity to represent his school in the postseason. Sectional results
The 82 may not have been one of his lowest rounds of the year, but the way he finished mattered. With his season at stake, Millice improved on the back nine and did enough to keep playing.
He will compete in the Southwest Division III District Tournament on September 28 at Heatherwoode Golf Club. A strong district performance would give him an opportunity to advance to the OHSAA Division III State Tournament.
A Senior Season to Remember
Millice’s final season at Triad has been defined by much more than one championship or one low round. He has collected multiple tournament victories, consistently earned medalist honors, won an individual conference championship and repeated as the OHC North Golfer of the Year.
He has also provided leadership and a dependable score at the top of a Triad lineup that includes several younger golfers. His rounds of 73, 75 and 76 in major 18-hole tournaments show his ability to perform when the stage becomes bigger. His sectional performance showed something different: the ability to recover, remain composed and advance when his best golf was not coming easily.
Millice will now take that experience to Heatherwoode, where he will have the opportunity to extend an already memorable senior season and compete for a place in the state tournament.
No matter what happens at districts, Cohen Millice has put together an outstanding career at Triad and established himself as one of the region’s top Division III golfers.
