FINAL: OLENTANGY 31, MARYSVILLE 8 — OCTOBER 2
Carter Dunn keeps showing up in Marysville's defensive production, and his latest game added another double-digit tackling performance to a productive senior season.
Dunn made 10 tackles against Olentangy on October 2. His eight solo stops and two assists contributed to a night in which the Monarchs kept competing after a difficult first half.
Marysville's current statistics list him with 69 tackles through seven games, an average of 9.9. The statewide statistical table also records nine tackles for loss and four sacks. Those are meaningful contributions at linebacker: tackles finish plays, while stops behind the line create tougher situations for an offense.
Dunn's production gives the Monarchs an established contributor as younger teammates continue gaining experience. His ability to help in more than one phase also matters. Against Olentangy, he caught two passes for 12 yards.
He has productive company on defense. Owen Harbold led Marysville with 13 tackles Friday, and Deacon Henry added nine. Mamour Saidy's season sack total stands at 9.5, giving the defense another player capable of affecting opponents behind the line.
The 31–8 result was disappointing, but Marysville held Olentangy scoreless after halftime. That response gives the group something concrete to build on heading into the October 9 home matchup with Thomas Worthington.
For Dunn, the remaining games offer an opportunity to keep adding to a strong senior résumé while helping the Monarchs pursue a more complete team performance. His spotlight rests on consistent, measurable work—a player contributing week after week, even when the schedule has been difficult.
