BTY2029 / TNBA AAU: Ranked No. 24 in the Nation Last Season — Could They Be Even Better Now?
Updated: 2 days ago
With a very similar core returning from last season, this group is starting to find its stride again — and they already look like they may be just as good, if not better. After a strong weekend playing up in the 16U division, BTY2029 made another statement by handling their matchups and dominating one of the top 16U teams from Canada.
Last season, this team earned national attention by finishing ranked No. 24 in the nation. That kind of recognition does not happen by accident. It comes from winning, competing, developing, and proving it against real competition.
Could BTY2029 be even better this season?

A Team That Already Proved It Belongs
BTY2029 was one of the top young teams around last season, and their success came from more than just talent.
This group has:
Strong chemistry
Tough guards and wings
Players who understand how to compete
Depth across the roster
Confidence in big moments
A core that has been tested together for years
Winning tournaments and earning a national ranking is impressive, but what stood out most was how this group carried itself. They played like a team that expected to be in big games.
That is what separates good teams from teams people remember.
A Loaded Roster with Big Expectations
This roster is filled with some of the top young players in the area.
Several of these players already made an impact as freshmen, and they are now stepping into even bigger roles and expectations as sophomores. That is what makes this season so exciting. The talent is already there, but the growth and development are still coming.
BTY2029 has the type of roster that can beat teams in different ways. They have players who can score, defend, handle the ball, create pressure, rebound, and make winning plays.

The BTY and TNBA Development Piece Is a Major Reason for the Program’s Success
One of the biggest reasons BTY2029 continues to be such an exciting team to follow is the development structure around them.
This group has strong continuity with Coach Josh Meihls, who has coached the core of this squad since they were in 3rd and 4th grade. That foundation helps explain the chemistry, confidence, and toughness this team plays with.
BTY2029 also benefits from the development support of BTY Marysville, Coach Kevin Truitt, and the TNBA staff. BTY provides a strong training environment for skill development, athletic performance, and overall player growth, while TNBA gives the group a competitive AAU structure and platform to keep testing themselves.
A Team to Keep Watching
BTY2029 / TNBA AAU is not just trying to repeat what they did last season.
They are trying to build on it.
This roster is filled with players who are already making waves and are expected to step into even bigger roles moving forward. Now, the focus shifts to how they finish the rest of the season as they prepare to face some of the toughest competition possible. The standard is high. The roster is loaded. The expectations are growing. And the rest of the season will be a great test to see just how far BTY2029 can take it.
