Van Wert’s Xavier Kelly earned first-team Western Buckeye League recognition for 2025–26.
The Division IV All-Ohio announcement also included Kelly on its honorable-mention list, reporting 11.5 points per game as a sophomore.
Van Wert’s tournament run added a team achievement: the Cougars defeated Galion 53–35 in the March 7 district championship. Kelly’s recognition belongs within that broader season story.
