October 3, 2025 — Marysville, OHWeek 7 brought a major OCC Cardinal challenge for the Marysville Monarchs as they hosted one of Central Ohio’s hottest teams, the Olentangy Braves. The Braves entered the matchup with a 5–1 record and showed why they are considered one of the top Division I programs in the region, defeating Marysville 49–17 on Friday night.
Despite the final score, Marysville showcased resilience, several strong individual performances, and continued improvement from key juniors and seniors.
Game Summary
Olentangy’s high-powered offense came out fast, attacking through the air and on the ground with precision. The Braves used a rhythmic passing attack, explosive yards-after-catch plays, and a balanced run game to build early momentum.
Marysville countered with two scoring drives, highlighted by big runs, strong return yards, and consistent special teams production. But Olentangy’s ability to finish drives and create separation in the second quarter proved too much for the Monarchs to overcome.
Even in defeat, Marysville showed competitive toughness — especially from their senior leaders and emerging junior standouts.
The Monarchs now sit at 3–4 as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
