2026–27 Ohio boys basketball outlook • WBL • Research checked October 21, 2026.

The verified starting point

2025–26 WBL record: 5–4.

Brody Fortman earned first-team All-WBL; Jordan Schumaker earned second team.

All-Ohio listed Fortman as a senior and Schumaker as a sophomore.

The league record leaves a clear target

Ottawa-Glandorf finished 5–4 in the WBL, level with Wapakoneta in conference victories and behind the three leading teams. That is the most useful starting point for the new league outlook: a winning conference record, with room to recover ground.

The Titans' reputation cannot answer the current personnel questions. The next team must establish how it generates shots, handles pressure and finishes defensive possessions. Those details will determine whether it moves beyond the middle of the table.

The two recognized players are at different stages

Brody Fortman was a first-team league selection and a Division IV All-Ohio special mention. The official state release lists him as a senior averaging 16.1 points. Jordan Schumaker earned second-team league honors and All-Ohio honorable mention as a sophomore averaging 11.1.

That difference matters. Schumaker's younger class standing makes him an important player to follow, subject to current roster confirmation. Fortman's previous scoring and recognition establish a graduation-related responsibility that cannot be assumed away by projecting improvement from one younger teammate.

Building around the next set of answers

Adam Maag also received league honorable mention, giving the previous awards list another name beyond the leading two. The awards alone do not define this season's rotation, and no final starting five is being projected here.

Watch how the Titans respond when an opponent takes away the first scoring option. The quality of the next pass, the availability of a second creator and the ability to recover a defensive rebound will reveal whether the group is becoming more complete. In a league where Shawnee went unbeaten and Van Wert lost only once, those connected possessions are the route to a more serious challenge.
