Ohio high school soccer is moving from the regular-season finish into tournament preparation. This October 14, 2026, snapshot separates statewide computer rankings from the national coaches’ poll and gives Marysville and Bishop Watterson readers a clear place to follow the fall race.
Ohio boys: MaxPreps statewide top five
The October 14 MaxPreps all-division Ohio boys’ rankings list No. 1 St. Ignatius (13–2–1), No. 2 St. Charles (13–2–1), No. 3 Dublin Jerome (14–2–1), No. 4 Olentangy Orange (14–0–3) and No. 5 Twinsburg (15–0–1). These are computer rankings, not an OSSCA coaches’ poll or tournament seeds.

Ohio girls: MaxPreps statewide top five
The girls’ ranking page, dated October 12, lists No. 1 Hudson (15–0), No. 2 Seton (16–0), No. 3 Olentangy Berlin (13–1–1), No. 4 Walsh Jesuit (12–2–1) and No. 5 Dublin Jerome (11–2). Bishop Watterson appears at No. 10 with a 13–1–2 record. Records are the snapshots attached to each published ranking.
Ohio in the national coaches’ poll
United Soccer Coaches’ October 13 boys’ national poll places Twinsburg at No. 10 and St. Ignatius at No. 23, with Hudson also receiving votes. Its records cover games through October 11. A national coaches’ vote and a statewide computer ranking use different approaches, so their order and record cutoffs can differ.
Marysville and Watterson
Marysville’s boys’ public team page lists 4–9–2; the girls’ page lists 7–8–2. The girls finished their latest posted match with a 7–1 win over Pickerington Central on October 8. Watterson’s boys are 12–3–1 in the OSSCA schedule database, following a 4–1 win at Granville on October 10. Nathan Koski’s returning-defender feature and the Marysville senior profiles add individual stories to the team coverage.
The verified tournament calendar
OHSAA lists sectionals for October 19–24, districts October 26–31, regionals November 3–8, state semifinals November 10–11 and state finals November 13–16. Results, brackets and rankings will keep changing. October’s challenge is to carry current form into the next match, where execution matters more than a position on a ranking list.
