Ohio High School Basketball: Wolfe Sports is using this window in time to move in their current Direction.

About Wolfe Sports
Wolfe Sports grew out of more than a decade of coaching youth basketball in Central Ohio and a love for the work that happens behind the scenes: studying film, creating highlights, evaluating players, writing, and preparing teams to succeed.
I loved being in the gym, building relationships, and watching players grow. I also loved understanding each player’s game and finding ways to help them. Looking back, much of what we do today was already part of what I enjoyed most about coaching.
Our backgrounds in healthcare, business, and marketing bring more than 15 years of experience helping people, organizing information, and building opportunities. Wolfe Sports combines that experience with a deep love for sports.
As my family grew to include three kids, I couldn’t maintain the same in-person coaching schedule. Wolfe Sports gave me a way to stay connected with the players, families, and programs I cared about while following more talent across Central Ohio and the rest of the state.
Still All In
When I coached, I was all in. That hasn’t changed.
We look beyond points, awards, and a player’s best highlight. We want to understand how they help their team, what they do consistently, how they respond to difficult games, and where they’re improving. Some of the most valuable things a player does never make it into a box score.
We watch games, take notes, create highlights, and write about players and programs we believe deserve attention. Seeing a player take a step forward or a team come together is still a big reason we do this.
Finding Our Own Way to Help Players
Last year, we worked directly with two standout players—one in Division I and one in Division VII. Both earned top player honors and attracted significant college interest. We’re proud of the work we did with them.
We also felt the responsibility that came with that role. We wanted the world for both players, and every call or email from a college coach felt important. Working through that experience helped us clarify where we could make the greatest contribution.
Our purpose has always been to help players get seen and found. We’re continuing that work through film, evaluations, articles, organized information, and relationships with college programs. We’re doing what we originally set out to do, just in our own way.
We reach out to college coaches, share what we’re seeing, and recommend players and teams to follow. Some coaches communicate with us regularly, and West Michigan and Miami have confirmed they’ll be following our work this coming season. Those relationships take time to build, and we want our coverage to be useful to the people evaluating athletes.
What Our Coverage Means
After so many years around the game, we know many players and families personally. You might see me hugging a parent or greeting a player we’ve known for years. Those relationships matter, but covering a player doesn’t mean we directly work with or represent them.
Sometimes we appreciate a player’s game and character and want to tell their story. Other times, a whole team or program deserves more attention. We can’t cover everything we’d like to, but we’ll keep looking for stories worth sharing.
Our goal is to celebrate the work people put in. Even in a tough loss, there can be effort, growth, strong performances, and reasons to keep following a program. We want our coverage to be fair, thoughtful, and constructive.
Building Something Coaches Can Use
We’re growing Wolfe Sports into a high school sports media brand, with basketball as our primary focus. Our articles, game coverage, social posts, and highlights shine a light on athletes and programs. Behind that coverage, we’re building a more organized way to learn about them.
We want a coach to see a player in a post and quickly find their school, graduation class, position, available statistics, articles, and film.
That work includes:
Player and program pages that bring relevant information together.
HUDL and YouTube playlists organized by player, game, class, and season.
Game-by-game and season highlights that make film easier to access and evaluate.
Recruiting education and resources that help athletes and families understand the process.
Our Ohio High School Basketball Preview, bringing teams, players, schedules, and season information into one statewide resource.
The connected pages and playlists are still being developed. Our goal is to build an extensive, organized high school basketball highlight database that helps coaches evaluate players and gives athletes, families, and programs easier access to their work.
Free Coverage and Paid Services
Regular player and program coverage remains free. We don’t charge for promotion or access to our platform.
We also offer paid services for the additional work of clipping and organizing game film, creating individual and program highlight packages, and putting recruiting tools together.
With more than 10 years of HUDL highlight creation experience, we help turn full games into organized, useful film—from game-by-game player highlights to an end-of-season reel. We work across platforms and sports, with services that can be handled remotely for individuals and entire programs.
Whether someone hires us for film work or we choose to cover them because we believe in their story, we want the result to be useful and thoughtfully put together.
Why We Keep Building
A post may take a minute to read, but behind it are games watched, film clipped, notes taken, information organized, and relationships built over time.
More than anything, we want to shine a light on the players, staffs, programs, and communities putting in the work. We want people to celebrate what they accomplish and get excited about who’s coming up next.
The way I spend my time around the game has changed. The reason I’m here hasn’t.
No rankings. No politics. Just hoopers and hard work.
