Marysville Bunsold vs. Worthingway (12/4/24): Monarchs Dominate with Complete Team Effort

Wednesday, December 4, 2024,

the Marysville Bunsold 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team turned in one of their most complete performances of the season, rolling to a 49–17 victory over Worthingway Middle School. It was a true team win, as all ten players contributed on both ends of the court, embodying the Monarchs’ “Together” mentality.

The Monarchs set the tone early with stifling defense and unselfish ball movement, pulling away quickly and never looking back.

Hudson King led the scoring effort with 14 points, controlling the game’s tempo and igniting the offense. Kellen Carter filled the stat sheet with 7 points and 7 rebounds, attacking the boards and creating scoring opportunities for his teammates.

David Lian provided a major spark off the bench, dropping 10 quick points—all in the second half, showcasing his scoring touch and energy. AJ Shroyer made his mark on both ends with 5 points and 5 steals, while Myles Forrester orchestrated the offense beautifully, contributing 2 points and 5 assists.

Sully Stackhouse battled inside, finishing with 2 points and 8 rebounds, while Mason Potts added 5 rebounds and 3 assists, doing all the little things that make a big difference.

Javy Lopez continued to shine defensively, notching 4 points and 4 steals, and Cole “Money” Schott hit a deep three-pointer and grabbed 4 rebounds. Adam Idrissi rounded out the balanced effort with 4 points and 5 rebounds, helping control the paint and seal the win.

This was a textbook display of team basketball—ten players contributing, one goal in mind.

With the victory, the Monarchs continue to build momentum as they prepare for a key road matchup on Thursday at Hilliard Memorial.
