The Marysville Bunsold Boys Basketball Program continued its impressive run on December 18th as both teams traveled to Worthington Kilbourne for a tough road matchup. The 8th Grade Monarchs once again rose to the challenge, facing an undefeated opponent for the second straight game — and for the second time in a row, they came out on top with a 37–23 double-digit victory.
It was yet another total team effort, showcasing the balance, depth, and defensive discipline that have defined Marysville’s season.
Kellen Carter led the way offensively with 10 points, attacking the basket and setting the tone early. Hudson King followed closely with 9 points, hitting key shots in critical moments to help the Monarchs maintain control. AJ Shroyer added 7 points, once again doing a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor.
Myles Forrester provided steady leadership and chipped in 5 points, while Sully Stackhouse added 2 points and his trademark hustle plays. Javy Lopez rounded out the scoring with 3 points, continuing to bring his defensive energy and floor awareness every possession.
The bench also made an impact as Adam Najjar, David Lian, Mason Potts, and Cole “Money” Schott each contributed valuable minutes—helping sustain the Monarchs’ intensity and defensive pressure from start to finish.
With this victory, the Monarchs continue to prove they’re one of the toughest and most complete teams in Central Ohio. They’ll look to close out 2024 strong when they return home to host Dublin Davis on Thursday.
The undefeated 7th Grade team will tip off at 5:30 PM, with the 8th Grade Monarchs following immediately after.
