Marysville Bunsold vs. Olentangy Berkshire (11/15/24): Monarchs Close Preseason with Strong Road Wins

 On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Marysville Bunsold Boys Basketball Teams wrapped up their preseason with one final test on the road against Olentangy Berkshire—and both squads looked more than ready for opening night.


The 7th Grade Monarchs continued to impress, putting together another commanding performance to secure a 59–40 win. Their energy, team chemistry, and execution on both ends of the floor once again showed why they’re one of the top programs in Central Ohio.

The 8th Grade Monarchs followed up with a dominant showing of their own, jumping out to a big lead early and holding strong throughout to earn a 64–54 victory. It was a balanced attack and a total team effort that highlighted just how deep and dangerous this Marysville group can be.


Kellen Carter led the way with a 22-point performance, continuing his preseason tear and establishing himself as the offensive anchor. Hudson King was brilliant as the floor general, recording a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists, running the offense with precision and poise.


The trio of Myles Forrester, AJ Shroyer, and David Lian each contributed 8 points and 5 assists, sharing the ball and finding open teammates throughout the night. Sully Stackhouse and Mason Potts brought energy and toughness, adding 6 points each, while Javy Lopez filled the stat sheet with 4 points and 4 steals, continuing to make an impact defensively.


Cole “Money” Schott and Adam Idrissi once again made their presence felt through hustle plays, including a key assist each that helped the Monarchs pull away late in the game.

Both the 7th and 8th Grade Monarchs have shown incredible growth and dedication through the preseason, and now they’re ready for the real thing.

Next up, Marysville officially opens the season at home next Thursday at 5:30 PM against Dublin Karrer.
