Marysville Bunsold vs. Hilliard Weaver (1/15/25): Monarchs Sweep at Home with Dominant Performances from Both 7th and 8th Grade Teams



The Marysville Bunsold Monarchs put on a show at home on January 5th, as both the 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball teams secured impressive victories over Hilliard Weaver in front of an energetic Marysville crowd.


The 8th-grade Monarchs jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, dominating the first half 33–11 before closing out a strong 53–40 win. It was a total team effort highlighted by balanced scoring, ball movement, and relentless defense—trademarks of this talented Marysville group.


Leading the way was Kellen Carter, who delivered another all-around performance with 15 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. Myles Forrester was steady and efficient, adding 6 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals, setting the tone on both ends of the court.


Hudson King distributed the ball beautifully with 8 assists and scored 5 points, keeping the offense in rhythm. AJ Shroyer contributed 6 points and 7 rebounds, providing his usual energy and toughness, while Sully Stackhouse made his presence felt with 11 points and 6 rebounds, finishing strong around the rim.


Javy Lopez continued to bring intensity on defense, adding 4 points and 3 steals, while Mason Potts, Cole “Money” Schott, and ISO David Lian each added 2 points in key moments. Adam Najjar provided a spark off the bench with 3 rebounds and a steal, rounding out a full-team effort that showcased the Monarchs’ depth and chemistry.


With this win, the Monarchs improve their season record and continue to look like one of the top programs in Central Ohio. They’ll hit the road next for a matchup against Dublin Sells on Thursday, before returning home for their final home game of the season next Tuesday against Dublin Eversole.
