Marysville Bunsold vs. Hilliard Heritage (1/13/25): Monarchs Grind Out Road Victory in a Tough Battle

The Marysville Bunsold Monarchs hit the road last Thursday night to take on a tough Hilliard Heritage squad, and both the 7th and 8th grade boys’ teams once again delivered winning performances.


The 8th Grade Monarchs fought through a physical, defensive battle to secure a 40–33 victory, showing grit and composure down the stretch.


Kellen Carter led the way with 14 points, continuing his strong season as the team’s primary scorer and leader on both ends of the floor. Myles Forrester added 3 points and 5 assists, doing an excellent job of running the offense and keeping the team organized in key moments.


Hudson King came through with 10 points, hitting big shots that helped Marysville maintain control, while AJ Shroyer turned in another all-around performance with 11 points and 7 rebounds, bringing his trademark energy and hustle.


Sully Stackhouse once again made a major impact in the trenches, contributing 2 points, 5 rebounds, and delivering the play of the game — a perfectly timed assist that helped the Monarchs pull away in the final minutes.


Javy Lopez, Mason Potts, David Lian, and Cole Schott all provided valuable minutes, contributing to the defensive effort and maintaining the team’s tempo throughout the contest.


Meanwhile, the 7th Grade Monarchs continued their dominant season, cruising to a 60–37 victory in their matchup and reinforcing Marysville’s reputation as one of the top programs in Central Ohio.


The Monarchs now return home to host Hilliard Weaver this coming Tuesday at 5:30 PM.
