Marysville Bunsold vs. Dublin Karrer (11/22/24): Monarchs Open the Season with a Strong Home Victory

The Marysville Bunsold 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team tipped off their 2024–25 season in impressive fashion on Friday, November 22, earning a 45–35 win at home against a talented Dublin Karrer squad. The Monarchs displayed poise, teamwork, and relentless defense in what proved to be a well-rounded season opener.

Myles Forrester orchestrated the offense beautifully, contributing 8 points and 10 assists, setting up teammates and keeping the ball moving with precision. Kellen Carter led the way in the paint, posting a dominant 14 points and 10 rebounds, starting the season with an early double-double and setting the tone physically.

Hudson King had one of the standout performances of the night—locking down a highly skilled opposing player and holding him to just 4 points, while adding 8 points of his own on the other end. His defensive effort was key in maintaining the Monarchs’ control of the game.

AJ Shroyer brought energy and toughness, contributing 3 points and 5 steals, constantly creating chaos for the Dublin Karrer offense. Sully Stackhouse provided a strong inside presence with 6 points and 8 rebounds, battling on the glass and finishing through contact.

Javy Lopez and Adam Idrissi each chipped in 2 points, making timely plays to extend the lead. David Lian, Mason Potts, and Cole “Money” Schott may not have scored, but their hustle, defensive effort, and attention to detail were instrumental in sealing the win.

It was a complete team effort—ten players contributing to a strong start and setting the tone for what promises to be another exciting season of Monarch basketball.

Next up, the Monarchs will travel to UA Jones next Tuesday before heading into the Thanksgiving break.

💙🏀 Monarch Nation—let’s keep the energy high as these boys continue to represent Marysville with pride!
