Marysville Bunsold Earns Two Big Wins vs. Tough Canal Winchester Team

The Marysville Bunsold 8th Grade Baseball Team capped off last week on a high note, extending their winning streak to three games after sweeping a doubleheader against a talented Canal Winchester squad on Saturday.


In Game 1, the Monarchs battled to a hard-fought 8–7 victory, with Landon Ice picking up the win on the mound and Isiaha McGinnis coming in clutch to earn the save.


Game 2 was an offensive explosion — Marysville erupted for 18 runs in the second inning to win 19–6. Daniel Delbosque earned the win, while Drew Carper made his first relief appearance of the season, pitching effectively to help close out the game.

At the plate, the Monarchs put together an incredible team performance:


  • Juan Marquez, Drew Carper, and Evan Wortman combined for 5 walks, 5 hits, 9 runs, and 6 RBIs.

  • Luke “Gibby” Gibson, Ev Lomax, and Landon Ice stayed hot, totaling 7 hits and 8 RBIs.

  • Brennan Hoffer added 2 hits and 3 runs, while Clayton Hoover and Collin Richardson sparked the offense with 2 hits and 2 RBIs each.

  • Owen Sparks, Isiaha McGinnis, Hayes Lautier, Evan Holshu, and Hunter Niel each chipped in with key hits and runs.


The Monarchs continue to build momentum and chemistry as they return home to face Bexley Monday night. Come out and support the Monarchs as they look to keep their hot streak alive!
