The Marysville Bunsold 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team (Class of 2028) continues to build momentum heading into the holiday break, picking up two impressive wins over strong Central Ohio opponents—Worthingway and Hilliard Heritage.
Last Thursday, the Monarchs took down Worthingway with a 40–29 victory, showcasing elite defense and team balance. They carried that energy into Monday night’s matchup, battling through a physical contest to defeat Hilliard Heritage 55–48 in another gritty team performance.
Dayton Storr once again led the way, turning in a dominant double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, controlling the game on both ends of the floor. AJ Gratz followed with a powerful performance of his own, recording 15 points and 10 rebounds, giving the Monarchs a relentless interior presence.
Kale Strickland stuffed the stat sheet with 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, continuing to play the role of facilitator and defensive anchor. Henry Brown and Noah Koski both contributed 8 points, helping space the floor and provide scoring balance.
Turner Smith added 5 points, hitting a key shot late in the game to keep Marysville in control, while Landon Will rounded out the scoring with 3 points and solid all-around effort.
With these two hard-earned wins, the Monarchs continue to show why they’re one of the top programs in the region—combining skill, depth, and unselfish play every time they step on the court.
Next up, the Monarchs will play their final two games before the Christmas break:📅 Tuesday @ Dublin Sells📅 Thursday @ New Albany
