Klarke Ransome’s coaching story includes a Marysville breakthrough that still deserves celebration. On February 25, 2023, the Monarchs beat Reynoldsburg 55–35 for the program’s first girls basketball district championship.
The first title remains a defining chapter
JoJo Eberhart and Addy Tweed scored 13 points apiece in the title game, while Ava Wilkerson added 10. Marysville had reached district finals in the previous two seasons, so the victory completed a pursuit with several years of tournament experience behind it.

The game report emphasized a balanced team effort rather than reliance on one scorer. That is a useful lens for appreciating the achievement: the title was built by players filling different roles within a winning team.
Ransome’s four Marysville seasons produced an 87–17 record and three OCC championships, according to Ohio Dominican’s hiring announcement. The first district title and a 2023 regional-final appearance gave that tenure a postseason milestone as well.
From Wolfe Sports’ perspective, the lasting value is that the program had a new accomplishment to build around. Ransome helped coach a team across a historic threshold, and the players who earned that title remain central to the story.
