Hilliard Bradley Basketball 2026–27: The Team Behind a State-Runner-Up Follow-Up
Updated: 15 hours ago
Bradley's next season carries a rare combination: a state-final standard and a group of recognized contributors who were still underclassmen during that run.
OCC Division I • 2026–27 season outlook • Research checked October 21, 2026.
The tournament supplied more than a headline
Hilliard Bradley reached the 2026 Division I championship game after beating Pickerington Central 44–42 in the semifinal. Princeton won the final 59–28. Those two very different results belong together when considering the next Jaguars team: Bradley finished a close game to advance, then encountered an opponent that controlled the championship.
The earlier rounds were demanding too. OHSAA's state preview records a 52–47 district-final win over Grove City, a 50–48 regional-semifinal win over Olentangy and a 57–46 regional-final win over Newark. The route required several answers, not one uninterrupted stretch of comfortable basketball.
The awards show how much experience existed below the senior class
The OCC's official awards workbook lists Ben Mirgon and Kypton Norris on the Central Division first team, Jayden Reed-Davis on the second team and Anderson Felix as an honorable mention. Mirgon was a junior; the other three were sophomores.
Bradley's own 2026–27 varsity roster page lists Norris and Mirgon. That is stronger evidence of current program presence than simply carrying their previous class labels forward. The next competitive games will still establish responsibilities and the full rotation.

What matters beyond the two leading guards
The March state preview credited Norris with 17.2 points and 3.6 assists, Mirgon with 16.0 points and 5.1 assists, and Reed-Davis with 11.7 points and 4.8 rebounds. These are the preview's dated figures, rather than new-season averages.
That distribution makes Bradley interesting as a team. Defensive attention on one guard can create a decision for another player, and recognized support gives the offense more possible routes. Watch whether those advantages survive after an opponent has prepared for a rematch.
The final's margin should not reduce an entire season to one result. It does leave a meaningful challenge: carry the experience of a deep run into better solutions against the next difficult matchup. The Jaguars' new season will be judged by those solutions, rather than by an assumption that experience alone guarantees another trip.
